Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida has a list of "key contacts" between our members/industry professionals and regulatory board/elected officials. This is an important and necessary part of an effective grass roots program. The effectiveness of our industry's government affairs efforts are tied directly with the relationships we have with those who pass and enforce our laws. Do your children play soccer together? Do you attend the same church? Did you go to the same university/school?
Any relationship you can think of with any elected official or regulatory board member, please let us know about. If that person is someone we need to communicate with in the future regarding a particular legislative initiative, we'll contact you first to discuss the issue and ask if you would be comfortable "breaking the ice" for us and/or talking with them about the issue.
